About Me

Hi there!

I’m Helen.

I’ve got a pretty unique blend of skills and experience when it comes to working with children. I’ve spent over two decades in the education field, teaching all age groups in primary schools and getting to know all sorts of young minds in various school setups. But, as time went on, I realized there was something missing. Children needed more than just textbooks and classroom learning – important as this is; they needed help with their mental and emotional wellbeing.

So, I decided to take a bit of a detour and became a qualified play therapist. I went through the whole process, firstly earning myself a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) and then a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Play Therapy from the Academy of Play and Child Psychotherapy (APAC). These courses are accredited by Leeds Beckett University and the University of Galway. Right now, I’m deep into my studies with a research project about therapist wellbeing, all in pursuit of a Masters Degree in Practice Based Play Therapy.

If you want to know how I make sure everything I do is safe and ethical, check out the ‘Play Safe’ section on this site.

Oh, by the way, I’m based down in Chichester, doing my thing in the southern parts of West Sussex and East Hampshire, in the UK.

Let’s chat if you’re looking for some support for your child.
